Providing for children and youth in our community

Providing Bags (Backpacks).  These bags are filled with new comfort and necessity items and are given to children (ages 0-18) as they are transitioned into a foster placement.  These Bags are delivered year round to local children.    This is our attempt to help children going into Foster Care.  This is a difficult time for children and this is our way to help as they go into care. 

We need individuals, neighborhoods, churches, groups, schools, and businesses to partner with us to host drives to create and fill these bags. Remember all items in the bags need to be in NEW condition.  Thank you for donating to Haven Foster in Montrose, Colorado!

How It Works

Haven Foster in Montrose Colorado receives donations of new neccessity items to fill backpacks to give to children (ages 0-18) as they are transitioned into foster placement.  Haven Foster also receives money donations to purchase product to fill these backpacks.  This is a 100% volunteer operation.  Nobody takes a draw of any kind.  Rest assured your donation goes to this location to provide for these children and youth. 

Please keep this in mind when you donate, our board members and directors are volunteers and receive no compensation. Nobody receives any compensation.  Donations go towards Haven Foster only! Thank you for helping!

Not in a postion to donate money or items?  No problem!  We need your help with sorting product, putting bags together and delivering them!

Haven Foster provides opportunities for community members of all ages and of various talents to get involved.   Here are a few more ways to get involved:

  • Make a blanket for the bags (quilt, crochet, no-sew fleece)
  • Pray for the children, birth families, foster families, court system, and the foster care community.
  • Create bracelets to be put in the bags
  • Make birthday or thinking of you cards to be given to the children
  • Meet an urgent clothing or supply need, as they arise.  These will be posted on Facebook.
  • Host a donation drive in your neighborhood or organization: money, books, Bag supplies, toiletries, gift cards, etc.
